FHSAA Statement on Hurricane Michael Aftermath

STATEMENT

Florida High School Athletic Association staff and sport-specific athletic administrators are working relentlessly with member-school coaches, school athletic directors and county athletic directors to establish open lines of communication in the aftermath of Hurricane Michael. The FHSAA’s top priority is to ensure the health and safety of all student-athletes and adult leaders. Throughout this past week and going forward, the FHSAA staff is working diligently with coaches and athletic directors to assess playing opportunities. The Association has already helped facilitate the rescheduling of numerous athletic contests. We are certain other games, including district contests, will be postponed and/or moved to different locations or dates. All coaches and athletic directors are being included in this challenging logistical process. All formal schedule changes will be posted on FHSAA.org, posted on FHSAA social media channels and communicated to affected FHSAA member schools.
