September Board of Directors Meeting Cancelled; Hall of Fame Banquet Postponed

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Florida High School Athletic Association Board of Directors meeting scheduled for Sept. 17-18 at the Robert W. Hughes FHSAA Building in Gainesville has been cancelled, the organization announced Wednesday. In addition, the 2017 FHSAA Hall of Fame Banquet scheduled for this Sunday night (Sept. 17) has been postponed.

All Board-related events will be pushed back to Nov. 12-13, the next time the Board is scheduled to meet again. Of the six appeals that were scheduled to be heard, the two regarding winter and spring sports have been pushed back to Nov. 12. The FHSAA is expected to conduct the remaining four appeals next week. A public notice regarding these football-related appeals will be released on once officials confirm a date.

In addition, Sunday’s scheduled Public Liaison Advisory Committee has been cancelled. The group will next meet Nov. 12 at 1 p.m. at the Robert W. Hughes FHSAA Building in Gainesville.

The 2017 FHSAA Hall of Fame Banquet has been tentatively rescheduled for Sunday, April 29, 2018. More information will be distributed this week to those who have bought tickets for the event.
