Circle Christian (Orlando) claimed its second ever girls cross country team championship with the 2017 Class 1A crown. Grace Blair of Oak Hall (Gainesville) claimed the top individual honor for the second consecutive year during the event held at Apalachee Regional Park in Tallahassee.

In a title game rematch, American Heritage (Plantation) avenged its 2017 runner-up finish to Land O'Lakes, by upending the defending champions 5-1 to claim the 2018 Class 6A Softball State Championship.

For the third consecutive year, Navarre claimed the Girls Weightlifting 2A State Championship, giving them five team titles in the last six years. The 2018 event was held at Arnold High School in Panama City Beach.

Venice ran away from Bartram Trail (St. Johns) early in a 37-24 victory to claim the Class 7A State Championship at the Camping World Stadium in Orlando.

Competition from the 2018 Florida High School Class 4A Tennis State Championships in Altamonte Springs. Miami Palmetto claimed both the boys and girls team championships.

Oviedo claimed the school's third girls bowling state championship by outlasting Coral Springs Charter at the 2017 event in Orlando.

Competition at the 2018 Track & Field State Championships from UNF's Hodges Stadium in Jacksonville. In Class 1A, Oak Hall (Gainesville) claimed the team title for the girls and First Academy (Orlando) took the top spot for the boys.

Jefferson (Tampa) captured the first baseball state championship in school history with a 6-5, extra inning thriller over Merritt Island in the 2018 6A title game in Fort Myers.

Lake Gibson (Lakeland) claimed the inaugural Class 2A Wrestling Duals State Championship at the event in Kissimmee.

In a game that came down to penalty kicks, Merritt Island clinched its third state title thanks to a 2-2 (PK, 3-1) thrilling victory over Gulf Breeze at the 2018 Class 3A Girls Soccer State Championships.
