FHSAA partners with C2C Schools
Some schools have expressed concern that the FHSAA has initiated a pilot program with C2CSchools.com in August of 2009 and this is the first you have heard of this partnership or program. The C2CSchools.com software was presented to the Board of Directors at its June Board of Directors meeting and several areas (district level and individual schools) have already committed to participate in the pilot program.
However, there is an impact of the program that makes a requirement for ALL affected FHSAA member schools. FHSAA member schools that play football, state series or independently, must:
1) Generate football rosters and entry lists* through C2CSchools.com; and
2) Football results must be reported via C2CSchools.com.
*Note: Schools playing football independently do not have to create entry lists.
Football rosters and entry lists
The Board of Directors approved the requirement for schools participating in football to now create rosters and entry lists. Athletic directors and athletic secretaries may have some angst regarding the need to input data that has already been submitted via iFHSAA. The rosters must be completed prior to the first contest of the season and the entry lists must be completed prior to the playoffs. (Please refer to the Football Regulations Manual regarding specific dates and procedures.) Currently, this function does not exist in the iFHSAA program and would have to be purchased and programmed for use. Since this is a new function, C2CSchools.com volunteered to make this a function of the eligibility management software that they have created for the Association at no cost. Additionally, C2C Schools' software allows for the upload of your school's entire student database at one time so you do not have to re-type each student-athlete's information.
This will require that schools either input the data for all football players in the program or contact C2CSchools.com regarding the process for integrating the data that already exists in the iFHSAA database.
Football results must be reported via C2CSchools.com
The schedules for member schools participating in football have already been integrated and those who will report the scores will submit the score reports via C2C Schools for the 2009 football season.
Some schools and school districts have decided to manage ALL eligibility via C2CSchools, which is approved by this office. An instruction manual has been placed in each school’s “Fall Box of Materials” if you have a football program, and/or you received one if you attended the compliance seminar. If you did not receive a booklet of instructions for C2C Schools, please download the PDF version of it from the FHSAA website or by clicking here. It is located on the front page of www.FHSAA.org in the "Now Due" box below the headlines.
If you have not yet received a password, please e-mail info@c2cschools.com to get yours. Please identify yourself in the e-mail as an administrator for the school and your position.
There are many other facets to the software provided by the company, which at some point you or the schools you serve, may receive a communication from a representative of C2C Schools to determine their interest in fully using the software for its athletic program. Please know such communication is approved by the FHSAA as a part allowing FHSAA member schools to use the software. The program allows member schools to meet various requirements and procedures which include, but are not limited to: submitting forms (contracts, sanctioning, membership renewal, etc.) tracking eligibility (create state series entry lists, rosters, physical date expiration, foreign exchange students, transfer students), scheduling and bracket building, video management (video announcements emanating from FHSAA staff, and video “swapping” as required for football playoffs), and communicating with officials associations for schedules.
I hope this addresses any preliminary concerns you may have as a result of the pilot program or receiving correspondence/communication from representative of C2C Schools.
