FHSAA Announces 11 Finalists for the Fifth Annual Sunshine State Spirit Showdown Contest

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Florida High School Athletic Association announced the 11 finalists for the fifth-annual Sunshine State Spirit Showdown, a statewide contest to promote positive sportsmanship and to see which school has the best student section in Florida. Last year's champions, Fort Walton Beach High School, submitted this video to showcase their school spirit.

This year’s fan voting will begin Monday, Feb. 12, and conclude Thursday, March 15 at 5 p.m. The FHSAA’s Student-Athlete Advisory Committee will meet the day after fan voting ends and evaluate the submissions. The winner, which will be decided by social media fan votes and the FHSAA SAAC, will be announced on Monday, March 19.

The finalist’s videos will be featured on the FHSAA YouTube channel and will be shared through the FHSAA Facebook and Twitter. Starting Feb. 12, fans will be able to access the submissions and vote on their favorite using the Survey Monkey link that will appear at the bottom of each video.
