DeLand High School to Host 2017 Florida High School Boys Weightlifting State Championships

GAINESVILLE, FL (3/20/17) – The Florida High School Athletic Association announced Monday DeLand High School will host the 2017 Florida High School Boys Weightlifting State Championships April 7-8 at the DeLand High School Gymnasium. The agreement is a one-year contract.

“After the success we experienced with our soccer championships this past February, it made sense to return to DeLand for another championship event,” FHSAA Executive Director Dr. Roger Dearing said. “The intimate venue will make for an energetic atmosphere, similar to when Belleview High School hosted girls weightlifting last month.”

General admission tickets will be sold at the door only for $9 (cash only). Parking will cost $10 per vehicle (cash only), with all proceeds going to the host school. A full event schedule will be made available shortly at FHSAA.org.
