West Port High School To Host 2016 FHSAA High School Girls Volleyball State Championships

GAINESVILLE, FL (9/28/16) – The Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA) and Marion County Public Schools have entered into an agreement to host the 2016 FHSAA Girls Volleyball State Championships Nov. 10-12 at the West Port High School Gymnasium in Ocala.
 
“We look forward to working with Marion County officials to provide our student-athletes, coaches and fans the best girls volleyball experience possible,” FHSAA Executive Director Dr. Roger Dearing said.
 
The FHSAA girls volleyball state tournament will continue its finals-only format, with the 4A and 5A championship matches taking place Thursday, Nov. 10. Classes 2A and 3A will follow on Friday, Nov. 11, before Saturday closes out the volleyball season with Classes 6A-9A along with Class 1A. All championship games will be broadcast live on Bright House Sports Network and web streamed via www.bhsnlive.com.
 
“Our students love volleyball and look forward to having the best teams in Florida right here on our own campus,” West Port Principal Ken McAteer said. “We are thrilled to host these students and know they will enjoy their Marion County experience.”
