Important dates for 2013 softball season announced
With the FHSAA announcing that the 2013 softball finals will be held in Vero Beach May 8-11, the rest of the season's important dates have been finalized. These changes will replace the dates listed in the orange calendar each school received in August. All eight classes will follow the same date structure. In addition, the breakdown of classes for playing dates at the state finals has been determined. Linked below the season schedule is the matchup page for the finals.
- Friday, Jan. 4 (week 27): EL7 and EL12 forms due to AD
- Monday, Jan. 7 (week 28): first practice date
- Monday-Friday, Jan. 28-Feb. 2 (week 31): preseason tournaments
- Monday, Feb. 4 (week 32): first regular season playing date
- Saturday, April 6 (week 40): last week for district contests
- Monday, April 8 (week 41): official entry list due
- Saturday, April 13 (week 41): late date for regular season contest
- Monday-Friday, April 15-19 (week 42): district tournaments
- Tuesday, April 23 (week 43): regional quarterfinals (Classes 3A, 5A, 7A)
- Wednesday, April 24 (week 43): regional quarterfinals (Classes 2A, 4A, 6A, 8A)
- Thursday, April 25 (week 43): team data forms and photos due from regional quarterfinal winners
- Friday, April 26 (week 43): regional semifinals
- Tuesday, April 30 (week 44): regional finals
- Thursday, May 2 (week 44): up-to-date stats due from state semifinalists
- Wednesday-Saturday, May 8-11 (week 45): state finals
