FHSAA Chooses Treasure Coast Sports Commission's Bid of Vero Beach Sports Village as Top Proposal for Softball
The FHSAA has completed its review and rankings for all proposals for hosting the FHSAA Softball Finals beginning in 2013 and has selected the Treasure Coast Sports Commission's bid of Vero Beach Sports Village as its top venue.
Negotiations will begin immediately and the contract is expected to be signed within 30 days. If, after 30 days, an agreement is not reached, then the proposal will be rejected and the process will continue with the second-ranked proposal.
The FHSAA uses a five-member committee to rank each proposal on a 100-point scale in eight different areas: quality of facility, bidder's experience with similar events, volunteers, financial package, availability and price of hotels, allowance for FHSAA e-ticket sales, overall completion of the bid packet and requirements on FHSAA.
The final scores for the bids are listed below:
| Host | Venue | Score |
|---|---|---|
| 1. Treasure Coast Sports Commission | Vero Beach Sports Village | 91 |
| 2. Polk County Sports Marketing | Diamond Plex (Winter Haven) | 89 |
| 3. Central Florida Sports Commission | National Training Center (Clermont) | 88 |
| 4. City of Jacksonville | JU Softball Complex | 78 |
