Basketball/Soccer/Girls Volleyball Planning Meeting Dates -- The boys and girls basketball, boys and girls soccer, and girls volleyball planning meetings will be held from March 12 -- April 12. To assist you in locating your planning meeting date, time and location, the FHSAA has created a link on those sports pages for assistance. The link can be found on the right column as the first box listed "District Meetings"ˇ (See below).

If your district does not have information, that is because the FHSAA office has not received the information from the district coordinator. All district coordinators are marked with an "X" under the "Assignments"ˇ link on the sport-specific pages.

2012-13 NFHS Volleyball Rules Changes -- The NFHS has released its rules changes, starting with the 2012-13 school year. All changes can be viewed at: http://www.fhsaa.org/news/2012/0227.

2012 Boys Lacrosse Clarifications/Corrections -- The NFHS has made corrections and clarifications regarding the 2012 Boys Lacrosse rules and they can be viewed at: http://www.fhsaa.org/news/2012/0302.

Softball State Entry List -- The state entry list for softball is due April 9. Please take note of this as it is not on the calendar.

·        State Entry List Deadlines -- The state entry list due dates for Spring sports are as follows:

March 12 -- Boys Weightlifting

March 26 -- Tennis

April 2 -- Track and Field (1A/2A)

April 9 -- Track and Field (3A/4A), Water Polo, Lacrosse, Softball

April 16 -- Baseball, Flag Football

April 23 -- Boys Volleyball

ELIGIBILITY AND COMPLIANCE

Archived Webinars -- Archived webinars are available at http://www.fhsaa.org/departments/eligibility-compliance. The following topics have been presented to date: Bylaw 9.2.4 (following the coach); Bylaw 9.3.2 (transfer regulations); Policy 7 (sanctioning); Bylaw 10.4 (appeals process); Bylaw 9.4.6 (change in eligibility from 1st semester to 2nd semester); 2012-13 Bylaws (review of newly adopted bylaws).

8th Graders Participating in Spring Football -- Please review Policy 18.2.5 regarding 8th graders participating in football spring training. Please direct correspondence to hjones [at] fhsaa [dot] org.

2012-13 EL2 (Physical Form) and EL3 (Parental Consent Form) -- The Association staff is receiving questions regarding potential changes to the current forms.  For those who are considering printing at this time, we suggest you delay printing in the event changes must be made to the aforementioned forms due to legislative requirements (i.e. concussion, hydration, etc.)

Summer Camps -- The Association staff is receiving questions regarding summer camps as related to Policy 20 Summer Athletic Participation. You may receive guidance regarding this matter by sending a test e-mail to compliance [at] fhsaa [dot] org.  The auto-reply that you receive serves as the guidance on summer camps and Policy 20.

Home Education Registration Deadline -- FHSAA member schools are reminded of the following dates (deadlines) for Home Education students to register their intent to participate in Spring sports in accordance with Bylaw 9.2 and Policy 16:

   March 12 -- Flag Football

Additionally, the date of notarization for the form used to register intent is referenced in determining the student's compliance with Policy 16. (For more information, please contact Eligibility and Compliance at eligibility [at] fhsaa [dot] org)

·         Sectional Appeals Deadline NOTE: Please review the FHSAA Planning Calendar for your appropriate filing deadline.

COMMUNICATIONS

HB 1403/SB 1704 -- The Senate adopted HB 1403 and it passed in the House last week and the Senate today by a 21-18 vote. The next step is for the Governor to sign it.
  
2012 Compliance Seminar Agenda Items -- The FHSAA is looking for feedback on potential agenda items at the 2012 compliance seminar. The FHSAA will be conducting breakout sessions on several topics and will need to know what the more pertinent topics are for the member schools. If your school plans to attend a seminar this summer please click on the link below to fill out the quick three question survey by March 23. Registration for the seminars will begin on Monday, April 2 and will close on Thursday, July 19.

FHSAA Floyd E. Lay Sunshine Cup Standings – The Floyd E. Lay Sunshine Cup all-sports award standings are now updated. Olympia, St. Thomas Aquinas, Gainesville, American Heritage (Plantation), Bolles, Cocoa Beach, Tampa Prep, P.K. Yonge, Sarasota Christian, Union County lead FHSAA Floyd E.
