FHSAA News Alerts


·         Spring Sports Advisory Committees – Spring Sport Advisory Committee candidacy forms are due Friday, December 16 to the FHSAA office. There are several sports lacking candidates in various administrative sections. If you have coaches interested in serving, please complete the attached form and fax to Shanell Young at (352) 244-5053. It is important that all vacant seats are filled! (document attached below)


State Entry Lists – State entry lists are due for the following sports on the specified dates:
Girls Weightlifting – January 3
Girls Soccer – January 9
Boys Soccer – January 17
Girls Basketball/Wrestling – January 23
Boys Basketball – January 30
·         Seeding Information – Tournament seeding due to district hosts on following dates:
Girls Basketball – January 23
Boys Basketball – January 30

·         Score Reporting – Remember to get your scores in for all varsity team sports by the following Monday of the previous week’s games!


January Deadline Reminder:
·         December Webinar – Eligibility and Compliance will soon be forwarding information to register for a brief Webinar regarding Change in Eligibility from the First Semester to the Second Semester.  This Webinar will be conducted on Thursday, December 15 at 10:00 AM.

·         Boys/Girls Basketball Finals Schedule – An extra day has been added to the schedule at the state finals in Lakeland. Both boys and girls will play Tuesday through Sunday and both weeks will have identical schedules.

·         USF Hosting Soccer Finals – The University of South Florida’s Corbett Stadium will be the official venue for the 2012 boys and girls soccer championships. Wharton HS and Hillsborough County will serve as hosts. USF will only host the championship games in each classification and all state semifinal games will be played at school sites (top line will ALWAYS be host school for state semifinal games).
