FHSAA, FIAAA to offer Leadership Training Courses leading to Athletic Administrator certification
The FHSAA and FIAAA are teaming together to offer athletic administrators around the state the opportunity to take the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association (NIAAA) leadership training courses and possible nationally recognized certification. The NIAAA through its Leadership Training Institute has developed 35 leadership courses covering many facets of high school athletic administration. Through the FHSAA, the FIAAA will offer one of four of the foundation courses on the Saturday afternoon prior to each of the September, November, January and April FHSAA Board of Directors meetings held in Gainesville at the Robert W. Hughes FHSAA Building. The courses are each four hours in duration and the cost of each course is $80.00, which covers the cost of the manual for each course as well as part of the travel expenses for the faculty. The completion of these courses could lead to nationally recognized (by the National Certification Commission) certification as a Registered Athletic Administrator (RAA), a Certified Athletic Administrator (CAA) or a Certified Master Athletic Administrator (CMAA). The CAA and CMAA designation have additional criteria as a requirement for certification at those levels. The first course will be presented on Saturday, Sept. 24, 2011 from 1 – 5 p.m. The deadline to register for this course (necessary in order to have materials sent in time) is Friday, Sept. 2, 2011. The registration form is attached.
The NIAAA is Accredited by the North Central Association Commission of Accreditation and School Improvement (NCA CASI).
