NFHS football rules committee memo on football helmet reconditioning
The NFHS received notification today from the NAERA, National Athletic Equipment Reconditioners Association, that effective in 2012, no football helmet older than 10 years will be reconditioned and recertified. This would apply to helmets dated 2002 or older. This would impact helmets for use in the 2012 football season.
