Dr. James "Roger" Dearing named new Executive Director
ATLANTIC BEACH – The Florida High School Athletic Association's Board of Directors voted this morning to appoint Dr. James "Roger" Dearing as the next Executive Director of the Association.
Dearing held his interview at the One Ocean Resort in Atlantic Beach, along with William "Sam" Ward, Principal of Fleming Island High School, and Clifton V. Norris, Superintendent of Levy County Schools.
"I'm elated," Dearing said. "This is the epitome of shaping young lives."
Dearing likely will continue to be the Superintendent of Manatee County through November, while the search for a replacement begins.
