FHSAA to offer first-ever live videostream of state girls basketball semifinal games
GAINESVILLE State semifinal games in this week's 2007 FHSAA Girls Basketball Finals will be videostreamed live from Lakeland on FHSAAsports.com, the FHSAA Office announced today. It is the Association's first venture into live videostreaming of an FHSAA Finals event.
"We are pleased to be able to offer this new service to high school basketball fans who will be unable to make the trip to Lakeland to see their teams play," said FHSAA Director of Communications Jack Watford. "We hope to expand this service to include other sports in the near future."
FHSAAsports.com is the Association's official championships web site. The streaming services are provided by ezStream.com, the FHSAA's official internet partner.
The cost to view the audiostream will be $10 per game. Streaming audio of the FHSAA Radio Network's broadcasts will continue to be offered on FHSAAsports.com for $5 per game. Revenues will be used to offset expenses of the services.
DVDs of each semifinal game also will be available for purchase at hsgametapes.com.
Live videostreams of the state championship games will not be available. All six championship games once again this year will be televised on a tape-delayed basis by Sun Sports, the official television home of the FHSAA.
