2006 Dodge FHSAA Football Finals televised statewide on Sun Sports, FSN Florida

ORLANDO – For the seventh consecutive year, Sun Sports will take its award-winning production team to the site of the FHSAA Football Finals this weekend and next and provide viewers statewide with coverage of all eight games -- 20 hours of game coverage airing on Sun Sports and/or FSN Florida.

Underscoring the regional cable networks’ focus on local programming and community-based events, the networks’ production team will focus on the hometown athletes, telling their stories and giving fans statewide a look at some of the amazing talent coming out of Florida’s prep ranks this year.

And for the second consecutive year, fans will have the opportunity to see two of the eight games live – next Friday’s 5A championship on FSN Florida and next Saturday’s 4A championship live on Sun Sports. In addition, a marathon of all the games will air on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day on Sun Sports.

Calling the action from Dolphin Stadium for the 1A, 1B, 2A and 2B title games on Sun Sports are Frank Forte (pxp), Brady Ackerman (analyst), and Bernie Guenther (sideline). The 3A, 4A, 5A and 6A title match-ups will feature Whit Watson (pxp), Ackerman (analyst) and Guenther (sideline).

Sun Sports’ production team, under the direction of Executive Producer Ned Tate, will produce the games much like the network’s collegiate game telecasts with a full-scale production including seven cameras and 25 crew members.

“For many of these student-athletes, playing for a state championship is the pinnacle of their high school careers,” said Tate. “We plan to showcase the competitiveness of the student-athletes, the energy of the cheerleaders and bands as well as the enthusiastic commitment of each school’s community and fans.”
