6-foot restricted area established for 2006 football season

The Florida High School Athletic Association Board of Directors has adopted the use of a 6-foot restricted area around football fields for the 2006 season.

Home-team management must mark this 6-foot restricted area completely around the field (sidelines and end lines) with a 4-inch broken restraining line.

All media personnel (reporters and photographers), as well as all other individuals having sideline access, must remain behind the restraining line outside the restricted area at all times during the game. Home-team management and contest officials have been instructed to strictly enforce the restricted area.

Please advise all reporters (both staff and correspondents) and photographers (both staff and free-lance) of this new rule.
