Golf finals a definite go for next week
GAINESVILLE The Florida High School Athletic Association today announced that "tentative" finally has been removed from its plans for at least one postponed state championship event. The 2005 FHSAA Golf Finals state championship tournament is a definite go for Tuesday and Wednesday, Nov. 8-9, at courses in Fort Pierce, Port St. Lucie and Vero Beach.
"The courses are ready. The hotels are ready. The host communities are ready. And Broward, Collier, Miami-Dade and Palm Beach counties tell us their participating teams and individuals will be ready," said Commissioner John A. Stewart. "So, I am pleased to announce that the FHSAA definitely will play the 2005 FHSAA Golf Finals next week on the Treasure Coast."
The Class 2A boys finals will be played at Sandridge Golf Course in Vero Beach; the Class 2A girls finals will be played at Pointe West Golf Course in Vero Beach; the Class 1A boys finals will be played at Fairwinds Golf Course in Fort Pierce; and the Class 1A girls finals will be played at The Saints' Golf Course in Port St. Lucie. The optional practice round and pretournament coaches meeting both will be held on Monday.
