Softball stays in Tampa; boys volleyball finals bound for Miami

GAINESVILLE – The FHSAA has named its 2004 and 2005 site for the FHSAA Softball Finals state championship tournaments, as well as the 2004 FHSAA Boys Volleyball Finals.

The 2004 and 2005 softball finals will remain at Ed Radice Sports Complex in Tampa. Hillsborough County Public Schools will continue to serve as host organization for the softball finals. The dates for the event are May 20-22, 2004 and May 18-20, 2005.

The 2004 boys volleyball finals will move to Florida International University's Golden Panther Arena in Miami. The Greater Miami Athletic Conference will serve as host organization for the event. The event will be held May 14-15, 2004.

"The FHSAA is pleased to have an opportunity to holds its state finals events in such outstanding venues," Commissioner Robert W. Hughes said. "It remains our goal to provide the opportunity for our state finalists to compete in the best facilities available."

The FHSAA also announced that it recently had agreed to a new four-year contract with The Lakeland Center to serve as host for the FHSAA Wrestling Finals through the 2007 season.
