Public Liaison Advisory Committee to hold public hearings in January
GAINESVILLE The FHSAA Public Liaison Advisory Committee will hold a series of public hearings -- one in each of the Association's four administrative sections in January.
The purpose of the public hearings are to provide members of the general public with an interest in high school athletics the opportunity to address issues regarding the effectiveness of the rules, operation and management of the Florida High School Athletic Association.
The dates, sites and times for the four public hearings are:
Section 1 3 to 5 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2004, Ramada Inn North, 299 North Monroe Street, Tallahassee.
Section 2 3 to 5 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 8, 2004, Hampton Inn, 3434 SW College Road, Ocala.
Section 3 noon to 2 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 8, 2004, Polk County Instructional Student Services Building, 1915 South Floral Avenue, Bartow.
Section 4 1 to 3 p.m., Friday, Jan. 9, 2004, Broward County Athletic Conference office, Lockhart Stadium, 5300 NW 15th Avenue, Fort Lauderdale.
The Public Liaison Advisory Committee operates independently of the FHSAA Board of Directors and office staff. It annually evaluates the Association and reports its findings, conclusions and recommendations to the FHSAA Board of Directors, as well as to the Commissioner of Education and the education committees of the Florida Senate and the Florida House of Representatives. The committee is comprised of educators, parents, media representatives and business people.
