Associate Commissioner Allen to retire after 10 years at FHSAA

GAINESVILLE – Ron Allen, Associate Commissioner for Athletic Operations, will retire on Aug. 31 after 10 years with the Florida High School Athletic Association.

Allen began his tenure at the FHSAA in August 1993 after a 30-year career in the public education system as a teacher, coach and principal.

"I have thoroughly enjoyed my 10 years with the FHSAA," said Allen. "I appreciate the opportunities afforded me by Commissioners (Ronald N.) Davis and (Robert W.) Hughes."

The Florida High School Athletic Association is the governing body for interscholastic athletic competition in Florida. It has a membership of 668 middle, junior and senior high schools.
