2003, 2004 FHSAA Swimming & Diving Finals to be held in Sebastian

GAINESVILLE – The Treasure Coast Sports Commission has been granted rights to serve as host organization for the FHSAA Swimming & Diving Finals during the 2003-04 and 2004-05 school years, the FHSAA office announced today.

The state championship meets will be held at North County Aquatic Center located between I-95 and the town of Sebastian.

"The FHSAA staff looks forward to working with Treasure Coast Sports Commission executive director Tom Colucci, the Indian River County Parks and Recreation Department, and both Sebastian River and Vero Beach high schools in making this event a success," said FHSAA Commissioner Robert W. Hughes.

The FHSAA also considered the YMCA Aquatic Center in Orlando as a potential site for the championships, which were held at the Hall of Fame Aquatic Center in Fort Lauderdale the last two years.

The Florida High School Athletic Association is the governing body for interscholastic athletic competition in Florida. It has a membership of 668 middle, junior and senior high schools.
