FHSAA Sports Report season premiere set for Wednesday, Oct. 16

GAINESVILLE – The FHSAA SPORTS REPORT Presented by Dodge will make its season premiere on Wednesday, Oct. 16 at 7 p.m. on Sunshine Network. The FHSAA SPORTS REPORT Presented by Dodge is the official magazine show of the Florida High School Activities Association.

This week on the FHSAA SPORTS REPORT Presented by Dodge, Jason Alpert is in Boca Raton where the Olympic Heights girls volleyball team is seeking a seventh consecutive state championship. Eric Keaton visits with the Plant (Tampa) girls cross country team to see if they have what it takes to set the state record with a seventh consecutive state title. Mark Roberts is in Jacksonville taking an inside look at the swimming & diving dynasty at Bolles (Jacksonville), and Ryan Asselta honors a football coaching legend in Fort Myers – the late Sam Sirianni.

Host Bernie Guenther, former Lee County Swimmer of the Year and current member of the University of Florida swim team, is in Gainesville at the new FHSAA headquarters. He sits down for a one-on-one with Commissioner Bob Hughes, who takes us on a tour of the new facility. Guenther also lends some insight on how to become an FHSAA Student Sports Information Director. The first episode will also kick off a series of features on the 2002 FHSAA Academic All-State Team.

The FHSAA SPORTS REPORT Presented by Dodge, now a one-hour format, will see a total of 12 episodes are for the 2002-03 academic year. Re-air dates in October for the first episode are: Monday, Oct. 21 at 3:30 p.m.; Thursday, Oct. 24 at 11:30 p.m.; and Wednesday, Oct. 30 at 3:30 p.m. For more information on the FHSAA SPORTS REPORT Presented by Dodge, click here.
