FHSAA awards girls volleyball finals to Lakeland

GAINESVILLE – The 2002 and 2003 FHSAA Florida Girls Volleyball Finals state championship tournament will be held at The Lakeland Center, the FHSAA Office announced today.

The dates for the tournament in both years will be Nov. 14-16, 2002, and Nov. 13-15, 2003.

"We are pleased to take the girls volleyball finals to The Lakeland Center," FHSAA Commissioner Robert W. Hughes said. "The City of Lakeland and Polk County extends exceptional hospitality to the Association, the participating schools and fans who attend all of the events we hold there."

The Lakeland Center currently serves as the site for FHSAA Florida Finals events in girls basketball, boys basketball and wrestling, and has been a site for the boys weightlifting finals in past years.
