Misenti, Turner re-elected to FHSAA Board of Directors
GAINESVILLE Richard Misenti and Lee J. Turner both have been re-elected to full three-year terms to the Florida High School Activities Association by member school representatives in their respective sections.
Misenti, principal of East Lake High School in Tarpon Springs and currently the President of the Association, was re-elected on the first ballot to represent the Associations Section 2. He is eligible for re-election as President of the Association by the Board of Directors at its first meeting of the 1998-99 school year in August.
Turner, principal of Pine Crest School in Fort Lauderdale, defeated Charles W. Buddy Bales, assistant headmaster of Gulliver Preparatory School in Miami, in a run-off for the Section 4 private school seat.
The 15-member FHSAA Board of Directors is the executive authority of the Association, controlling all FHSAA guidelines, regulations, policies and procedures. It also is the final appellate authority within the Association.
The Florida High School Activities Association is the governing body for interscholastic athletics in Florida. It has a membership of 601 middle, junior and senior high schools.
