2006-07 Recommendations (Effective 2007-08)
a. Uniforms Numbers
Remove the requirement to have numbers on the back of all uniforms
Rationale: This would cut down on the expense on uniforms, due to the wear and tear on the numbers, and there are other ways to identify athletes, i.e. hip umbers and lane assignments.
TkAC 1st Rdg. Motion: Lipham, Second: Mathis Passed. 7-0 (8/22/06)
ADAC 2nd Rdg. Did Not Support. 8-0 (8/29/06)
TkAC 2nd Rdg. Motion: Lipham, Second: Sullivan Passed. 7-0 (8/27/07)
Rationale Revisited: By allowing both Track and Cross Country to use the same uniforms, This would cut down on the expense on two (2) sets of uniforms.

2007-08 Recommendations (Effective 2008-09)
a. Rule 207.03 (2) a. Regional Advancement form prelims to finals
Change current rule from: Top four (4) from each heat advance to:
Advancement from prelims to finals: Three (3) from each heat and then the next two (2) fastest times.
Rationale: This would help to properly place athletes in the correct lanes when hand times are used in district competition.
TkAC 1st Rdg. Motion: Dearing, Second: Lipham Passed. 7-0 (8/27/07)

VI. Discussion
1. Heptathlon – the committee like the idea of re-establishing the event and a subcommittee of Dearing, Fray, and Gowan was made to research the feasibility of adding the sport back into the track and field state series.
2. Race Walk – The committee discussed if race walking had enough interest in the state of Florida to be considered as an added event into the track and field state series. It was agreed that the there is not enough interest in the sport to add it to the state series.
3. Two-day state finals event – the committee discussed if the state finals could be run over two days for ach class. This would help the athletes perform better because of increased recuperation time. A subcommittee was formed of Dearing, Baur and Lipham to conduct research and bring an recommendation to the 08-09 committee meeting.
