Committee
The Board of Directors appoints an Infractions Appeals Committee to hear and act upon appeals of schools found to have committed major violations. The committee is composed of five members as follows: one public school member, who must be a school-based administrator; one public school member, who must be either a school-based administrator or a district-level administrator; one private school member, who must be a school-based administrator; one private school member, who must be either a school-based administrator or a regional- or state-level administrator in a private school accrediting organization that is recognized by the FHSAA; and one attorney, who within the last five years, has been a member in good standing with the Florida Bar or the bar of any other state in the union, and who cannot be connected with any member school, public school district or private school accrediting organization, or represent student-athletes coaches or athletic directors in any manner. The committee will meet as needed. |
The following individuals serve as Infractions Appeals Committee members. Names and positions of committee members are provided. Contact information is not. Committee members act as impartial judges within the Association's due process system and must not be contacted with regard to any case to be considered by them. A member serves a term of three years, except as stipulated for the initial committee of members. A member may be reappointed to a second term, but cannot serve more than six years on the committee. To ensure that the terms of all members of the committee do not expire at the same time, each member appointed to the committee will serve their initial terms of service as listed below.
