2008 FHSAA Compliance Seminar
When: Monday & Tuesday, July 28-29, 2008
Where: TBA, Gainesville |
What: Two-day seminar on FHSAA rules and procedures for member school personnel; new FHSAA Bylaw 3.3.2.3 requires each continuing member school to be represented at a compliance seminar by either the principal, FHSAA representative or athletic director at least once every three years; FHSAA Bylaw 3.2.1.1 requires first-year membr schools to be represented at the seminar by the principal, FHSAA representative and athletic director (all three)
Mandatory attendance: List of schools assigned to attend this year
Exemption from attendance: There is no exemption from or waiver of the attendance requirement in the assigned year. A school that cannot be represented by anyone of the three administrators (principal, FHSAA rep or AD) this year because of prior commitments on the part of all three may request in writing a one-year deferal from the requirement. The deferal request must state why the school cannot be represented by any one of the three administrators. Deferment will be determined on a case-by-case basis. Any deferal granted will be until the 2009 seminar. The school's position on the three-year assigned attendance rotation, however, will not be adjusted.
Voluntary attendance: Personnel from any member school not on the mandatory attendance list may voluntarily attend; school, however, still will be required to send a representative in the assigned year
Cost: No registration fee; school is responsible for all costs of transportation, lodging (overnight stay is required for those not within daily commuting distance of Gainesville) and meals for its representatives who will be attending
