Oxbridge Academy (West Palm Beach) defeated Lake Highland Prep (Orlando) 55-39 to capture the school's first ever Girls Basketball State Championship and claiming the top spot in 2018 of Class 5A.

Gulf Coast (Naples) claimed its first ever team title at the 2017 Class 3A Boys Golf State Championships from the Mission Inn & Resort in Howie-in-the-Hills.

Madison County claimed the 2017 Class 1A team title at the Florida High School Boys Weightlifting State Championships in DeLand.

South Dade (Homestead) claimed the inaugural Class 3A Wrestling Duals State Championship at the event in Kissimmee.

Competition at the 2017 Boys Track & Field State Championships from IMG Academy in Bradenton. Miramar, Miami Northwestern, Hallandale, and St. Stephen's (Bradenton) all claimed team Championships.

Canterbury (St. Petersburg) outlasted the defending champions in Class 2A, Aucilla Christian (Monticello) 2-1 to capture the school's fourth softball crown at the 2017 state championships.

Lake Gibson (Lakeland) finally broke through for its first team championship by dethroning perennial favorite Brandon in the Class 2A Individual Wrestling State Championships during the 2018 event in Kissimmee.

American Heritage (Plantation) dominated offensively en route to their first ever girls basketball title, by defeating Ponte Vedra 59-33 in the 2018 Class 6A State Championship game.

Oakleaf (Orange Park) took down Wellington 6-1 to claim the school's first ever softball state championship in the 2017 Class 8A title game from Historic Dodgertown.
