Bringing home the school's first-ever softball title, Gainesville defeated Lake Region (Eagle Lake) 1-0 in the 2016 Class 7A championships from Historic Dodgertown in Vero Beach.

Winter Haven goes back to back after coming away with the Class 8A girls basketball title over South Broward (Hollywood) 72-65 during the 2017 state championships. They won the Class 7A title in 2016.

Merritt Island came away with its second state title thanks to a 1-0 (PK, 4-2) thrilling victory over Stanton (Jacksonville) at the 2017 Class 3A Girls Soccer State Championships.

Lafayette claims their first baseball title with a 2-0 win over Chiefland in the 2016 Class 1A Florida High School Baseball State Championships .

Competition during the 2017 Competitive Cheerleading State Championships held at Exactech Arena in Gainesville.

Westminster Christian (Miami) defeated Lake Highland Prep (Orlando) in a five-set match to claim the 2016 Class 5A Girls Volleyball State Championship during the event in Ocala.

Ribault (Jacksonville) exploded offensively en route to their state leading, 12th girls basketball title by defeating Lakewood (St. Petersburg) 72-31 in the Class 6A 2017 State Championship game.

Sickles (Tampa) defeated Lincoln (Tallahassee) 51-45 in the 8A title game of the 2017 state championship event held in Lakeland. The boys basketball championship is their first in school history.

Archbishop McCarthy (Southwest Ranches) needed all five games to defeat Miami Killian 3-2 at the 2016 Florida High School Boys Volleyball State Championship in Naples.
